"There are only three kinds of mental business: mine, yours and God's (the God of your understanding).
The effect of mentally being out of my business is separation and loneliness. To assume that I know what's best for you or anyone else is pure arrogance. In the long run, can I really know more than you or God about your life and welfare? The result of this arrogance is tension, worry and anxiety. Being mentally in another's business keeps me from being present with myself. The kind thing is just to know what is best for me, in the moment. This is a full life's work. This is my business, this is my life. This practice keeps me healthy, effective and free of stress. From this inner place, I live as a clear and loving example of peace - a friend without conditions.
P.S. If you practice living mentally in your own business for a while, you may come to see that you are God's business, not the other way around.
" -Byron Katie
